Hardcore Survivalist Hatchet, 19oz head on 18″ American Hickory curved handle, includes custom made leather sheath.

This is it. This is the culmination of all we’ve learned about the craft of tool making. And we believe it’s the pinnacle of hatchet design. Made from top quality 4140 tool steel (AKA “Ordnance steel” because it’s commonly used for making breech and barrel parts for guns and cannons) for both toughness and edge retention, and ground to within a +/-.005″ tolerance, we designed the curved blade for both optimal cutting and splitting wood. We’ve also incorporated a nail/tent stake puller and the pole has our patented recessed striking face. At 19oz on an 18″ handle, it’s perfectly balanced for any job, whether it’s chopping down a tree, splitting firewood, or setting up camp. This premium hatchet cuts like a full size axe yet is small enough to fit in a backpack.

Best Hatchet I Have EVER Owned!!!

This hatchet lives up to its reputation and its name. It is truly Hard Core!! It is exactly as described and worth every penny! Tbh, I was a bit skeptical ordering a product I hadn’t seen for myself. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got it. A big shout out to Corporals Corner!!! Thanks for putting me on to this amazing product. Cheers!!! Jeff

Not so much Hardcore Hammer and here is why.

Lightly used survivalist hatchet and sadly it broke on a camping trip with my twelve year old son. No misses on splitting smaller fire wood bundles that were pre cut. It broke inside the eye of the axe head. My brilliant son stated that “it cannot even handle the work ethic of a 12 year old”. I have two of these hatchets as one is the super naturalist. I prefer the surrealist hatchet as it has a heavier head for splitting smaller kindling and fire wood bundles but very disappointed. What’s even more disappointing is that customer service still has not responded to my email.

I would not have left this review if I received a cordial response to my email. But nope, nothing a few days later. Pretty disappointing for a customer and especially at their prices. Lessons can be learned from this. I would rather buy from a lesser known brand with great customer service than a higher end tool company that only responds to a sale and not a warranty or Quality Control issue, heck even just a response with guidance to remove the wood from the eye and a replacement option. Broken axe handle at the head or inside the eye of the axe head seems to be a common problem of theirs and I guess more so the customer.

Maybe stick to Council Tools, Helko Werks or Gransfors Bruk.

See pictures.

OK head, bad handles, good steel, odd design.

Bought this back in 2019 or so, used on the trail and in the woods quite a bit. Handle split under the head after the second time I used it. Customer service was good.

Fast forward to three or so uses with the new handle.. split again, same spot. Won't be ordering a handle from them again.

The head itself is alright. The tip of the beard is way too thin as I've had to bend/reprofile it back several times. It's good steel and you can get a great edge, but if the profile is anything other than appleseed, it will roll on anything remotely resembling a knot. hammer is great for utility, peg/nail puller is a nice touch, but I've often found myself looking for something else as the beard or handle gets in the way of actually using it.

Excellent tool, had some hanging tree limbs to test out the box. Performance was excellent, can’t wait to apply in the wild.
